Five Ways to Style Your Home for Winter

Five Ways to Style Your Home for Winter
Turn your home into a winter wonderland!

Winter is all about cosy nights in on the sofa tucked up with a good book or watching your favourite series on Netflix. We've put together a few tips on making your house look at its best so that you can make the most of those long winter nights indoors.

1. Indulge in cosy throws

Nothing beats a soft, cosy throw or blanket to snuggle up in during the cold winter months and a new throw is always at the top of our birthday wish list. Add warm and interesting textures and textiles to your space by investing in faux fur, wool, sheepskin or even a cashmere blanket. The addition of a few cushions will instantly add warmth to your living area and create the perfect area to enjoy a cosy night in as the evenings grow darker.

2. Bring the outside in

Add a little touch of nature to your home with some winter greenery. Next time you give your garden shrubs a trim, bring the trimmings inside to fill empty spaces. Evergreens such as firs will look wonderful draped across a fireplace mantel and will fill the room with its festive scent. You could also create your own light feature by filling a glass bowl with some pine cones and fairy lights or using slices of tree stumps as coasters for mugs of steaming hot chocolate.

3. Give your fireplace a makeover

If you are lucky enough to own a fireplace, give it a winter makeover! Make sure your furniture is angled towards your fireplace to make it a real focus point in the room. Lay out a cosy rug in front of it and stack up wood in neat piles to give it a cosy cabin feel. Dress the mantel with foliage, candles and perhaps a couple of ornaments to create a lovely homely and appealing winter feature.

5. Add a winter wreath to your door

Wreaths are no longer just for Christmas but very much on trend all year round and make the perfect finishing touch for your winter-ready home. Wreath making classes are becoming increasingly popular but you can also easily make your own with foam, wire, and wooden wreath forms readily available online and at most craft stores. Why not add a few Tatty Teddy baubles to make it festive?

6. Give your home the perfect winter scent

Cinnamon, orange, cloves and pine are some of the cosy scents we associate with winter. Our Me to You winter diffuser and Me to You candle from our winter set is perfect for adding a wintery aroma to your home. They also make the perfect Christmas gift for loved ones.
